Rural development programmes adopted

Brussels, 25/08/2015 (Agence Europe) - Between 3 and 17 August, the European Commission adopted a number of rural development programmes for the period from 2014 to 2020.

Hungary. The Commission adopted the Hungarian programme, which will receive €3.4 billion from the EU budget and total public funding of €4.2 billion for the 2014-2020 period. Support will be provided for 3,000 young farmers and 3,900 farms.

Italy. The programme for Sardinia will be allocated €628 million from the EU budget, providing support for 1,870 holdings and 1,120 young farmers. The Commission also adopted the programme for the Trento region: €301 million in total public funding, with €129.5 coming from the EU purse.

France. The Commission adopted the programmes for the regions of Aquitaine (€595.3 million in EU funding), Burgundy (€539.4 million), Brittany (€367.7 million) and Ile de France (€57.6 million).

Spain. The programme for Asturias adopted by the Commission will receive €325 million in Community funding (€561 million in total public funding). Andalusia will receive €1.9 billion from the EU budget: in all, this region will receive €2.4 billion of public funding). (Lionel Changeur)
