25/08/2015 (Agence Europe) - 50-60 banks involved in 2016 stress tests. The bank stress tests that the European Banking Authority (EBA) will carry out in 2016 in collaboration with the European Central Bank (ECB) will involve 50-60 banks in the eurozone, the ECB confirmed on Friday 21 August. These stress tests will begin in the first quarter of 2016 with the publication of a detailed scenario and methodology, with the evaluation having to be finalised by the end of the third quarter (see EUROPE 11361). By the end of 2015, the EBA will publish detailed data on the bank balances of the EU's main banking groups - especially on the composition of capital, the leverage ratio, weighted risk assets broken down by the type of risk and exposure to sovereign risk, and by credit type.
