Brussels, 24/08/2015 (Agence Europe) - On Monday 24 August, the European Commission approved the extension, until 31 December 2015, of the public guarantee scheme in favour of Polish banks. The scheme provides guarantees and other liquidity support measures in favour of solvent credit institutions in Poland. It was initially approved in September 2009 and modified to be brought into line with the 2011 communication of the Commission on support to banks during the crisis. The Commission now finds that the extension of the scheme complies with this communication as it is well targeted, proportionate and limited in time and scope. (Elodie Lamer)
