Brussels, 21/08/2015 (Agence Europe) - During the second qaurter of 2015, seasonally adjusted GDP rose by 0.3% in the eurozone and 0.4% in the European Union as a whole, according to figures published by the EU's statistical office, Eurostat, on Friday 14 August.
During the first quarter of 2015, the generation of wealth grew by 0.4% in both the EU19 and the EU28.
This quarterly variation in GDP varies according to the member state. Compared with the first quarter of 2015, GDP rose the most in Latvia (1.2%), Spain and Sweden (both 1.0%), Poland and the Czech Republic (both 0.9%) and Estonia, Greece and Slovakia (0.8%). There was moderate growth in Germany (0.4%), low growth in Italy (0.2%) and zero growth in France. Finland is the only member state to see a shrinkage of its GDP (-0.4%).
Data is not yet available for six member states: Denmark, Ireland, Croatia, Luxembourg, Malta and Slovenia. (Mathieu Bion)
