Brussels, 06/07/2015 (Agence Europe) - The Arab NGO Network for Development, which has been consulted by the EU on the review of the European Neighbourhood Policy (ENP), has produced an analysis document that was sent to Brussels on Monday 6 July. The NGO network says that the document - “Rebuilding Relations with the Southern Neighbourhood Countries” - sets out a series of proposals to give more direction to this step of appraisal in the context of the Arab revolutions.
These NGOs believe that with its business as usual approach, the ENP undercuts the gain of the Euro-Mediterranean policy and does not respond to what the partners expect of it. The Barcelona Process has itself experienced an imbalanced development between its three pillars -the political and security, the economic, and the social. The recommendations are to act more in the social area, to fight against poverty and to take action for more integration. (Fathi B'Chir)
