Brussels, 05/06/2015 (Agence Europe) - If one considers German basic benefits as social assistance that seeks to ensure a decent quality of life, then EU law allows nationals of another member state to be denied social benefits for the first three months of their stay in Germany. If, on the other hand, these benefits are considered as a way of facilitating access to the German labour market, then EU law protects non-German nationals and does not allow them to be denied their benefits.
