Brussels, 02/06/2015 (Agence Europe) - On Tuesday 2 June, the European Commission confirmed that it has received a complaint from Disconnect Inc about the US online search giant Google's abuse of its dominant position by banning Disconnect's app for Android mobile phones and tablets.
Ricardo Cardoso, European Commission spokesman for competition questions, said that the complaint had been received and would be examined. According to website TechCrunch, Google said “the reported claim is baseless” as Disconnect violated a clause relating to Google Play apps, hence its ban.
