Tories backed by 5,000 British small businesses

Brussels, 27/04/2015 (Agence Europe) - The heads of almost 5,000 small businesses in the United Kingdom have given their backing to the current Prime Minister, David Cameron, in a letter published in the Telegraph, the British media report. These company heads fear that general election victory for the Labour party will harm the UK economy. The letter, motivation for which came from an entrepreneur with close links to the Tories, follows a similar missive sent by 100 larger business leaders.

The 5,000 bosses argue that the Conservatives have managed to overcome the crisis and put the economy back on the right track, reduce deficits, and keep inflation low, and they would like to see David Cameron and George Osborne finish the job they have started. “A change now would be far too risky and would undo all the good work of the last five years.”

The latest opinion polls published in the United Kingdom put the Labour party in the lead with 34% of voting intentions, ahead of the Tories on 33% and UKIP on 14%. The tightness of voting intentions between the two main parties makes alliances all the more likely, even though Labour leader Ed Miliband, on Sunday, ruled out any possibility of an arrangement with the Scottish National Party.
