Brussels, 24/04/2015 (Agence Europe) - On Friday 24 April, the European Commission decided without debate to unblock 19 authorisation procedures for imports into the EU of GMOs, thus allowing 17 GMOs for food and animal feed use into the EU, to the great consternation of the environmentalists.
Ten of these are new authorisations and seven are renewals. The other two decisions concern the authorisation to import genetically modified cut flowers not for food use into the EU.
