12/03/2015 (Agence Europe) - Juncker plan - several organisations concerned at reduction in funding for Connecting Europe Facility. Fourteen European transport organisations, including the European Community Shipowners' Associations (ECSA) and the Community of European Railway and Infrastructure Companies (CER), expressed their concern on Wednesday 11 March at the reallocation of €2.7 billion from the Connecting Europe Facility as a credit guarantee for the European Fund for Strategic Investments (EFSI), which will be created as part of the so-called Juncker investment plan. This “will put at risk many projects that have been identified as priorities of the TEN-T network (Trans-European Transport Network)”, they argue in a press release, highlighting the importance of “the solid transport network” European industry needs in order to thrive.
