17/02/2015 (Agence Europe) - Eurogroup urges Cyprus to implement foreclosure rules. The head of Eurogroup, Jeroen Dijsselbloem, has called on decision-makers in Cyprus to speed up the introduction of foreclosure rules, saying: “If and only if this hurdle can be overcome, the programme can be brought back on track. This is why we call on all Cypriot decision-makers involved to implement this framework as soon as possible.” In December 2014, Cypriot parliamentarians suspended the introduction of the foreclosure law until 31 March in order to protect the most vulnerable mortgage-holders. The troika left Cyprus empty-handed on 6 February, but is expected to return at the end of March. (EL)
