Brussels, 16/02/2015 (Agence Europe) - On Monday 16 February, Maja Kocijancic, the spokesperson for the EU High Representative, Federica Mogherini, called on the fighters to silence their weapons and “fully apply” the ceasefire in eastern Ukraine (see other articles). The spokesperson said: “It appears as if the ceasefire is largely holding, despite a certain number of incidents.” She added “it is imperative that the ceasefire is fully implemented. A ceasefire is a ceasefire, which means that shots must not be fired”. On Monday, Ukrainian army and separatist rebels accused each other of breaching the very fragile ceasefire that entered into force on the weekend and warned that it was not possible in these conditions to proceed to the withdrawal of heavy weapons from the front line.
