Brussels, 03/02/2015 (Agence Europe) - A study commissioned by the European Commission highlights the success of entrepreneurship education.
This study was published at the end of January and is based on 93 case studies in 21 countries. The study reveals that entrepreneurship education pays dividends and that students who have followed this kind of training were more likely to set up their own business. Their companies tend to be more innovative and more successful than those led by persons without entrepreneurship education backgrounds.
It also transpires that entrepreneurship education alumni are at a lower risk of being unemployed and are more often in steady and better paid jobs. In an effort to maximise the impact of entrepreneurship education, the study recommends targeting all kinds of students and not just those who already know about entrepreneurship. It also suggests developing programmes based on business experience and “real-life”. The setting up of networks has proved a good means of support, as well as education that is integrated into the enterprise ecosystem. (MD)
