Brussels, 12/01/2015 (Agence Europe) - Technical specifications have been adopted by the European Commission for the European Rail Traffic Management System (ERTMS).
A decision on 5 January was notified to the member states and includes new Technical Specifications for Interoperability (TSI), which will be applicable from July. The specifications were recommended by the European Railway Agency and the ERTMS system authority, in cooperation with the stakeholders they have been working with over the past few years. The specifications focus on safety, reliability, health, environmental protection, accessibility and technical compliance. They will help to ensure that all trains can be run throughout Europe without any technical problems. (MD)
