Brussels, 19/11/2014 (Agence Europe) - The European prize for literature has been awarded to the best new European authors during the gala ceremony at the Concert Noble in Brussels on Tuesday 18 November. The prize-winners are as follows: Ben Blushi (Albania), Milen Ruskov (Bulgaria), Jan Nemec (Czech Republic), Makis Tsitas (Greece), Oddný Eir (Iceland), Janis Jonevs (Latvia), Armin Öhri (Liechtenstein), Pierre J. Mejlak (Malta), Ognjen Spahic (Montenegro), Marente de Moor (Netherlands), Uglješa Šajtinac (Serbia), Birgül Oguz (Turkey) and Evie Wyld (United Kingdom). The prizes were awarded by the Commissioner for Culture, Tibor Navracsics, and attended by the president of the “culture and education” committee at the European Parliament, Silvia Costa. (IL)
