19/11/2014 (Agence Europe) - Miguel Arias Cañete at Atlantic Council Summit. The European Commissioner for Energy and Climate will attend the 2014 Atlantic Council Energy & Economic Summit in Istanbul on Thursday 20 and Friday 21 November. The Atlantic Council defines itself as a “nonpartisan institution devoted to promoting transatlantic cooperation and international security”. Cañete will deliver keynote remarks at the Summit's opening in addition to participating in a plenary session on “Critical Sources of Energy Supply Demand in the 21st Century.” In a backdrop to the summit, Commissioner Arias Cañete will also bilaterally meet with the Turkish Energy Minister Taner Yýldýz, US Secretary of Energy, Ernest Moniz and IEA's Chief Economist Fatih Birol.
