On Wednesday 29 October, the European Commission approved Spanish plans to provide regional investment aid of €16.28 million to Premursa Theme Park SA for the construction of an amusement themepark and a four-star hotel in Alhama de Murcia. It found that the public aid favours regional development while any competition distortions will remain limited. The approved aid comes in the framework of a broader existing approved aid scheme of €206.6 million in total, which is expected to create 1,500 jobs during the construction phase and 1,200 direct jobs after completion of the investment.
