Brussels, 29/09/2014 (Agence Europe) - The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) officially launched the second phase of the Small Business Support (SBS) programme to small and very small enterprises (VSE/SME) in Casablanca (Morocco) on Tuesday 23 September
The programme is funded by the EU and managed under the EBRD's “Multi-Donor Account”. An ERBD press release explained that the programme seeks to provide “advice and expertise by a network of local consultants and international industrial experts”.
The press release also indicated that the first phase, launched in September 2012, had helped provide support for more than 110 back-up projects. The EBRD carried out 14 investments in Morocco in a range of different sectors, including real estate and tourism, agri-business, financial institutions, energy and investment funds, to the tune of €260 million, according to the regional representative of the bank in Morocco, Laurent Chabrier.
