Brussels, 23/09/2014 (Agence Europe) - The development of electricity and gas markets and the security of supply will be the key subjects of a conference on the energy partnership between the European Union and Norway, which will be held in Brussels on Thursday 25 September. European Commissioner for Energy Günther Oettinger and Norway's Minister for Petroleum and Energy Tord Lien will attend the conference and then meet as part of the EU-Norway energy dialogue to discuss key areas for energy cooperation - such as the security of supply, future energy security stress tests, the progress of carbon capture and storage (CCS) technology, and the development of the internal energy market. Norway remains one of the EU's main gas and oil suppliers - in 2013, 92% of Norway's oil exports and over 98% of its gas exports were to the European market. (EH)
