Madrid, Tallinn, Athens and Dublin first to be affected by rotation

Brussels, 18/09/2014 (Agence Europe) - On Thursday 18 September, the ECB announced the countries of the eurozone which will be the first to be affected by the rotation system to be phased in from January 2015.

Lithuania's accession to the eurozone in 2015 changes the decision-making process within the Governing Council of the ECB (see EUROPE 11105). In addition to the votes of the six members of the board of the Frankfurt-based monetary institute, only 15 voting rights will be authorised....
