On behalf of the EU on Friday 5 September, a spokesperson from the European External Action Service (EEAS) welcomed “the release of two Algerian diplomats kidnapped in Gao, Mali, by the Movement for Unity and Jihad in West Africa (MUJAO)” and congratulated “the government of Algeria and its people” on this release.
