25/08/2014 (Agence Europe) - Olli Rehn hopes French cabinet reshuffle will give serious boost to growth-enhancing economic reforms. Free to express his views now that he is an MEP, Finnish Liberal, and former Euro Commissioner, Olli Rehn tweeted on Monday 25 August: “Will the French reshuffle by President Hollande mean that growth-enhancing economic reforms finally get a serious boost?” The French economy stagnated in the first quarter of 2014 and the French Socialist government is split over the type of policy needed to boost growth (see related article). Last week, the French president, François Hollande, called for an adjustment in the timeline for reducing the country's public deficit in the light of the exceptional circumstances (see EUROPE 11137).
