On Wednesday 23 July, the Council adopted, without debate, a directive establishing a framework for maritime spatial planning (see EUROPE 11063). The European Parliament adopted its first reading position on the proposal of 15 July 2014. The European Parliament position the compromise agreement reached between the institutions. (LC)
