16/07/2014 (Agence Europe) - Sopra Group SA's acquisition of Steria SCA given thumbs up. On Tuesday 15 July, the European Commission gave the go-ahead to the acquisition of Steria SCA of France by Sopra On Group SA, also of France. Steria provides information technology management services and Sopra Group IT services and software. The two companies' business overlaps in the IT services market in France, Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg and the United Kingdom. Due to the limited presence of the two companies on the software market and low market share for the provision of IT services, the Commission says the merger will not cause competition problems. (EL)
