Denmark's “Our Europe” project wins 2014 Charlemegne Prize

Brussels, 28/05/2014 (Agence Europe) - Our Europe, a Danish travel project, was awarded first prize at the 2014 Charlemagne Youth Prize ceremony in Aachen University (Germany) on 27 May. The second prize went to the JouwDelft & Co youth congress from The Netherlands and the third to the Employment4U, a training project from Cyprus. Our Europe involved thousands of young people from 24 countries and promotes European and international understanding through exploration of what is going on in and around the generation of young Europeans. JouwDelft & Co is a European youth congress that took place from 19 to 24 November 2012. It sought to find local-scale solutions to reduce youth unemployment in Europe. Finally, the Youth Dynamics hosted a youth training course from 13 to 20 April 2013, to promote youth employability, improve young people's individual employability, the exchange of active job search strategies and to promote networking. The three winning projects will receive funding of €5,000, €3,000 and €2,000 respectively. The European Charlemagne Youth Prize is awarded annually to projects that foster a shared sense of European identity and integration among young people. (IL)
