Brussels, 13/05/2014 (Agence Europe) - The European Youth Forum has given its support to the Colombo Declaration on Youth published on 10 May at the end of the Global Youth Conference. This event is organised every year on 6-10 May and last took place in Sri Lanka.
This year's theme was “integrating youth into the post-2015 development framework”. The Colombo Declaration calls for a more significant role to be given to young people in forming new policies, including those in the development arena. It calls on decision-makers to pursue targeted goals and for youth policy to remain the guiding principle in implementing the post-2015 development programme. More than 1,500 people, including 350 international socio-educational workers and almost 400 young people (two from every country in the world) took part in this event. (IL)
