EXTERNAL ACTION / (ae) moldova

08/05/2014 (Agence Europe) - Government meets Commission. After the Ukrainian government on 13 May, the Moldovan government, led by Prime Minister Iurie Leanca, will meet the European Commission and its President José Manuel Barroso in Brussels on Thursday 15 May, in order to review the situation in the Republic of Moldova. Moldova is due to sign its association agreement with the EU in June 2014 at the latest. According to the Commission, the meeting will take stock of the “latest developments in the Republic of Moldova, address both sides' preparations to ensure that the future EU-Moldova association agreement delivers growth and stability up to its full potential, and review the state of play with key reforms in Moldova's justice sector, business environment and energy relations”. According to a European source, Europeans and Moldovans will also discuss the implementation of this agreement after it has been signed. (CG)
