Impossible to get rid of unanimous voting rule says Juncker

Brussels, 23/04/2014 (Agence Europe) - Jean-Claude Juncker, the EPP's candidate to be the next president of the European Commission, said on Wednesday 23 April that there would never be unanimity to abolish unanimity at the Council of Ministers for deciding on tax issues. The idea of scrapping unanimous voting has been mooted by EU Tax Commissioner Algirdas Semeta as a way of speeding things up.
