Brussels, 23/04/2014 (Agence Europe) - On Wednesday 23 April, Morocco's Minster for Agriculture Aziz Akhannouch called on the European Union to respect its commitments, again saying that he believed the EU's decision to amend the access conditions for non-EU fruit and vegetables to the European market was “unacceptable”. “We signed an [association] agreement in 1996 and, mid-way, the EU is unilaterally changing the rules agreed. It is not acceptable”, stated Akhannouch. “I have talked to the European commissioner [Dacian Ciolos] and there will be other discussions all week to find a solution protecting the interests of both shores (…) I think we'll come to an agreement”, he added (our translation).
