02/04/2014 (Agence Europe) - €750 million for renewable energies in France. On Tuesday 1 April, the European Investment Bank (EIB) announced the launch of the Renewable Energies France programme. It has made a financial commitment to this programme worth €750 million for implementing renewable energy projects over the whole of French territory between 2014 and 2016. Project development areas include wind, photovoltaic, hydraulic and geothermal energies. Thanks to the EIB's triple-A rating, funding beneficiaries (both public and private undertakings) will have access to favourable financing conditions. The different loans granted by the EIB account for 50% of funding needs for each project that has an investment cost of less than €50 million. (LC)
