Brussels, 02/04/2014 (Agence Europe) - The first real meetings on the nine multi-modal Trans-European Network for transport (TEN-T) corridors take place this week in Brussels from 31 March to 4 April. The Forum facilitates examination of the work plans that each of these corridors have to determine by the end of the year and which are a crucial part of releasing funding in the Connecting Europe Facility. The next meetings of representatives from member states, infrastructure managers, cities and regions will take place in June, September and November. Each corridor forum will be chaired by a coordinator with a strong political background: Peter Balaz for the North Mediterranean Sea corridor, Kurt Bodewig for the Baltic-Adriatic, Laurens Jan Brinkhorst for the Mediterranean, Pat Cox for Scandinavia-Mediterranean, Ana Palacio for the Rhine-Alps region, Mathieu Grosch and Karel Vinck for the Eastern Mediterranean, Karla Pejis for the Rhine/Danube, Carlo Secchi for the Atlantic and Pavel Telicka for the North Baltic Sea. Luis Valente de Oliveira and Brian Simpson will also be coordinators for the motorways of the sea. (MD)
