Brussels, 20/03/2014 (Agence Europe) - On Thursday 20 March, the Notaries of Europe (Conseil des Notaires d'Europe, CNUE) launched a new information website aimed at vulnerable people (http://www.personnes-vulnerables-europe.eu ), the CNUE has announced in a press release.
Available in three languages (German, English and French), the site offers information sheets on protection measures for vulnerable people in countries with a notarial system, that is, 22 European countries. It is designed to allow citizens concerned to find out more about self-determination instruments (lasting powers of attorney, advance decisions, etc.) and to arrange legal protection. The site provides answers to such questions as: “Does the law in your country provide for lasting powers of attorney, advance decisions (…) or allow you to request that a trust person be named as guardian in the future?”, “Which authority has international, territorial and material jurisdiction to appoint legal guardians?” and “What substantive law is applicable to lasting powers of attorney, advanced decisions and requests made with regard to the guardian and/or circumstances of the guardianship?”.
