Brussels, 14/03/2014 (Agence Europe) - On 13 May, a conference will take place in Athens for environment ministers from the Euro Mediterranean area. It will focus on the effects of climate change. An ad hoc meeting of civil servants responsible for guiding the Euro Mediterranean process took place on Thursday 13 and Friday 14 March in Amman (Jordan) to prepare the session and the final draft of the declaration.
The different themes to be tackled include carrying out the “Horizon 2020 Initiative to Decontaminate the Mediterranean Sea” (this was launched by the Euro-Mediterranean ministerial conference on the environment, in Cairo in November 2006); “Climate Change”; and “Sustainable Consumption and Production (SCP)”. The issues of biodiversity and integrated coastal region management will also be discussed. (FB)
