Green light to Lisbon-Fortaleza undersea fibre optic cable

Brussels, 25/02/2014 (Agence Europe) - The future telecommunications connection between the EU and Brazil is testament to the resolve of both parties to avoid US espionage.

Meeting in Brussels on 25 February (see EUROPE 11025), the EU and Brazilian leaders affirmed their support for the project to link the EU and Brazil by an undersea fibre optic cable between the capital of Portugal - Lisbon, and the capital of Ceara state (north east-Brazil) - Fortaleza.
