13/02/2014 (Agence Europe) - Two new deputy directors general. On Wednesday 12 February, the College of Commissioners decided to appoint two new deputy directors general to the Directorate General on Agriculture. Monique Pariat (France), currently a director within DG Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, will be responsible for bilateral and multinational relationships and quality policy (a position previously held by Loretta Dormal Marino, who has now retired) within DG AGRI. Mihael Dumitru (Romania) will be responsible for the rural development and research programmes in this field (this post was held by Jerzy Plewa, who became Director General of DG AGRI last year).
