Brussels, 07/02/2014 (Agence Europe) - In Rome on 1 March, European Parliament President Martin Schulz (Germany) will be confirmed by his peers as his party's candidate in the race to the presidency of the European Commission, the Party of European Socialists (PES) states in a press release. The PES will start its congress on 27 February and will adopt its manifesto on 1 March. Schulz was the only candidate in the running for the European Socialists. (SP/transl.fl)
