Brussels, 24/01/2014 (Agence Europe) - The Council of the Notariats of the European Union (CNUE) has a new president for the year 2014, the Belgian notary, André Michielsens, the CNUE states in a press release dated Thursday 23 January. Michielsens takes over from Frank Molitor of Luxembourg. The new CNUE president has been a notary in Wijnegem since 1982. He was the president of the Antwerp chamber of notaries from 1999 to 2001 and president of the national chamber of notaries in Belgium from 2002 to 2005. Of the subjects that will occupy the European notariat in the coming months, the development of the EUFides platform will be the centre of attention, as will the proposals for regulations on matrimonial property regimes and the property consequences of registered partnerships. Company law, an ever-evolving area at European level, and the fight against money laundering will also be given particular consideration, states the CNUE. (SP/transl.jl)
