16/01/2014 (Agence Europe) - Dijsselbloem not worried about deflation. There is no acute risk of low inflation lasting for long, said the head of the Eurogroup, Jeroen Dijsselbloem, in Beijing on Thursday 16 January because the low price rises in the eurozone are due to the structural reforms being introduced, such as the fall in labour costs in a number of countries. On Wednesday, IMF Director General Christine Lagarde said: “We see rising risks of deflation, which could prove disastrous for the recovery”, adding that the ECB could do more to stimulate financing of the real economy by issuing targeted loans.
