Brussels, 08/01/2014 (Agence Europe) - The mandate of the European Data Protection Supervisor (EDPS) and his assistant will expire in a week's time on 16 January. Their role is to ensure respect for personal data protection in the European institutions and they have been called on to perform a new role in the forthcoming reform of the 1995 directive. Successors have not as yet been found.
