Brussels, 08/01/2014 (Agence Europe) - The fifth session of the Euro-Mediterranean Regional and Local Assembly (ARLEM), which is organised on an annual basis by the EU Committee of the Regions (CoR), takes place this year in Tangiers (Morocco) on 23-24 February. A debate on the “territorial dimension” of Euro-Mediterranean cooperation will be held, to be followed up by a report by the co-presidencies.
Decentralisation policies, which regions on both sides of the Mediterranean are pushing forward, will also be discussed. These regions will also bring up the issue of enhancing their institutional capacities in relation to EU and government executive bodies. The specialist ECOTER and SUDEV commissions responsible for specific action programmes will also present their respective activity reports. (FB/transl.fl)
