Brussels, 03/12/2013 (Agence Europe) - The Greek government signalled on Monday evening that it is planning to adjust the rules on repossessions with or without the approval of the troika of lenders (European Commission, European Central Bank and International Monetary Fund), and on Tuesday 3 December, the European Commission refused to comment on developments (see EUROPE 10975).
“We cannot comment on any report or any announcements made on plans that will be made or not made”, said the European Commission spokesman, Olivier Bailly. According to its policy, the Commission will only comment on decisions actually taken, but there are growing comments and leaks in Greek media about the negotiations. Simon O'Connor, the spokesman for Economic and Monetary Commissioner Olli Rehn, said he hoped the conditions would soon be in place to allow the troika mission that began in September to draw to a close.
