18/10/2013 (Agence Europe) - Not giving in to disproportionate enthusiasm on the nuclear issue. While the meeting between the E3+3 and Iran on 15-16 October regarding the Iranian nuclear programme enabled “substantive” discussions (see EUROPE 10944), a high level Western diplomat stressed on 17 October that this does not mean that an agreement will be obtained at the next meeting on 7-8 November. “We are more reassured than we were before. However, it doesn't mean we are close to a solution and that we will have an agreement next month”, the diplomat told a group of journalists. The diplomat said that the meeting enabled more to be learned about the programme and Iran's concerns. “But the differences remain very large in terms of what the steps should include”, the diplomat added.
