Brussels, 23/09/2013 (Agence Europe) - The city of Vigo in the Spanish region of Galicia is to receive €112 million from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) for improvements to water treatment, the European Commission confirmed on 20 September. The current plant will be modernised, improving water quality for 420,000 inhabitants and for the cultivation of shellfish and molluscs, which is widespread in the region, and to bring wastewater treatment up to European standards.
