Brussels, 09/09/2013 (Agence Europe) - On Monday 9 September, the EU decided to provide additional financial aid to the Mission of the African Union in Somalia (AMISOM). This new envelope, of €124 million, will help guarantee the operational capacity of the mission up to the end of the year and thereby to keep up the pressure on the Somali Islamist group Al-Shabbab. Although weakened, this group showed its colours on Saturday 7 September with a double attack in Mogadishu.
