Azevedo from Brazil takes over from Lamy at WTO

Brussels, 03/09/2013 (Agence Europe) - On 1 September, Brazil's ambassador to the WTO, Roberto Azevedo, took command of the WTO for a four-year term of office. He succeeds Pascal Lamy from France. The first international appearance of the sixth WTO director general will be at the summit of G20 leaders in St Petersburg on 5-7 September. The WTO General Council will meet on 9 September to celebrate the inauguration of the new WTO head. The WTO governs world trade.
