05/07/2013 (Agence Europe) - Mergers: Telenor ASA/Cosmo Bulgaria-Germanos Telecom. On 4 July, the European Commission authorised the acquisition of Bulgarian companies Cosmo Bulgaria Mobile EAD (Globul, mobile telephones) and Germanos Telecom Bulgaria EAD (Globul's distribution network in Bulgaria) by Norwegian telecoms operator Telenor ASA. Despite vertical connections on the wholesale roaming markets in Bulgaria, Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Hungary, along with landline and mobile phone call placing services in the same countries, the Commission decided that the deal would not cause any competition problems because of the presence of other operators and the insignificant proportion of traffic compared with the total number of calls processed by international operators.
