2014 timetable - return of mini-sessions in Brussels

Brussels, 12/06/2013 (Agence Europe) - On Wednesday 13 June, the European Parliament adopted its new timetable for plenary sessions in 2014, the year of the elections. There will be 11 plenary and three mini-sessions in Brussels (instead of 12 sessions in Strasbourg in 2013).

The EP rejected an amendment tabled by the EPP Group getting rid of the three sessions in Brussels. President of the European Parliament Martin Schulz pointed out that elections year is a special one, which justifies the addition of three plenaries in Brussels. The EP elections will be held from 22 to 25 May.

The 2014 timetable of plenary sessions will be as follows (sessions to take place in Strasbourg unless otherwise stated): 13-16 January, 3-6 February, 24-27 February, 10-13 March, 2-3 April (Brussels), 14-17 April, 1-3 July (constitutive session), 14-17 July, 15-18 September, 8-9 October (Brussels), 20-23 October, 12-13 November (Brussels), 24-27 November and 15-18 December.
