Brussels, 27/05/2013 (Agence Europe) - The ports package presented last week by the European Commission has again come in for some blistering attacks, raising questions about its ability to be genuinely able to rectify the problems in the sector. The package seeks to improve the efficiency of ports by opening up a whole range of services to free competition, thus ensuring the ports' independence in setting prices, and advocating social dialogue (see EUROPE 10851).
