27/05/2013 (Agence Europe) - Vote on banking on 10 June. Initially scheduled for Tuesday 28 May, the vote on the draft resolution on the Liikanen Group report on banking, piloted by Arlene McCarthy (S&D, UK), is now expected to take place on Monday 10 June. The vote was postponed following a request from Jean-Paul Gauzès (EPP, France) to give more time for compromise amendments. At this stage, the contents of the resolution are general because the main political groups are finding it difficult to agree on the extent to which retail banking should be hived off from speculative activities.
