Brussels, 22/05/2013 (Agence Europe) - Last week, the European Investment Bank (EIB) granted a loan of €200 million for the funding of the research, development and innovation (RDI) programme of Repsol S.A.
The EIB will be financing various investments under the wide-ranging research, development and innovation programme in the following areas: the optimisation of natural gas transport, the improvement of energy efficiency in the oil refining process, the development and production of petrochemical derivatives and CO2 storage. The programme will also include the development of products and systems in the production of renewable energies, bioenergy and transport solutions sectors.
The bulk of the planned activities under the RDI programme will be carried out at Repsol's sites in Spain, at its technology centre in Mostoles, in active cooperation with universities and technological companies. The investments will be implemented over the period 2013-2016. (OL/transl.fl)
